We recently had our village/hamlet fete and I thought I would write about it and the when I looked at the site I realised how I have neglected it for ages.

Anyway we set up a pen at the end of the drive near the car park and as in previous years had a great interest shown in the boys we had on show. As the fete is for the benifit of the local church we have a walk the alpacas routine and happily raised a goodly sum for church funds. We also had products from our own Alpaca fleeces on sale and virtually sold out.

It was rather nice that on the day of the show we had a cria born, Dylan who when we bought him in to an inside pen became a popular star attraction and is now growing on well and catching up with his brothers Dougal and Zebedee. These are boys we often show as they are particularly good natured.

We have done many local shows and it is amazing how everybody loves the alpacas and they provide a great attraction for the show organisers and of course it socialises the alpacas.

This year for us has produced a fine crop of young animals which we will be showing at various agricultural shows next year and I guess selling some.
